Mid & Sr. Level Fiber Optic Field Engineer (Domestic)
Testing Skill requirements (2- 3 Years experience).
- Direct experience with Fujitsu, Nortel, Cisco and ciena equipment
- Proficient using laptop computer
- Familiar with telnet and Command line Interface
- Experience turning-up, provisioning, and commissioning telecommunications (Fiber Network) equipment
- Complete understanding of SONET, SDH, OTN, and Ethernet networks
- Experience using Optical Power meters, Fiber Scopes, SONET and GbEthernet BER test sets.
Installation Skill Requirement (3 - 5 years experience)
- Deployment of telecommunications equipment involving rack, chassis, and tray installation within a Telco Central Office environment
- Familiar with Telecordia GR-1275 CORE Installation Requirements
- Installation of DC power from BDFB to Equipment Bay
- Terminating Power to PDU
- Crimping lugs, H-Taps
- Installation of Fiber optic cable management systems
- Running and terminating fiber optical cable to/from Fiber Distribution Panel.
- Familiar with Optical cleaning processes and accepted methods
- Proficient at lacing.
Sr. Level Fiber Optic Field Engineer (International)
International Travel Experience
- Previous experience in providing on-site support in Central or South America
- Spanish Language skills desirable
- Availability to deploy internationally for up to a month at a time
